President and CEO: Allen Smith Bruce Bailey is a native of Muskegon, Michigan who has lived in Charlotte, NC since 1984. He graduated from Michigan StateUniversity’s Business School with a BS in Marketing, and has worked as a sales/marketing executive in the metals industry for most of his career. He met his wife Dee, a native Charlottean, shortly after his arrival in 1984. He has been very active at his church, Myers Park United Methodist, where he currently serves on the Administrative Board, Jubilee Grant Committee, and is chairman of the World Outreach Committee. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Kenya Orphanage Project, a 501(c)3 charity that supports an orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya. Bruce has traveled extensively throughout the world to countries in Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas. In recent years he has developed a passion for mission work, and strongly believes that the best way to practice Christianity is by example. That means actively using your gifts, your hands, and your feet to help others in need.
Director: Dow N. Bauknight Dow Bauknight has 35 years of managerial, sales and execution experience in the Technology Consulting Industry. Responsible for generating/managing book of business in systems and management consulting services. Ran Carolinas practice of Accenture and also its Global Supply Chain Practice. Started up, managed a global on-line purchasing company for Accenture and merged it into another company. Dow serves on boards of several small companies.
As Executive Directory, successfully launched a nonprofit startup - NPower Charlotte Region, Inc., a nonprofit startup providing technology consulting services to other nonprofits in a 14 county area around Charlotte NC. Dow completed his 5 year commitment to NPower in December of 2008.
Dow received his BA degree, Magna Cum Laude/Phi Beta Kappa, from WoffordCollege and his MBA from UNC Chapel Hill. He is involved in the local community, having directed the development of strategic plans for Simmons YMCA and University City YMCA, and serves on the board of several small, faith-based nonprofits. Mr. Bauknight is also active at Myers Park United methodist Church, having participated in Finance Committee, World Missions Committee and has led the efforts for the church to develop its 5 year strategic plan. Dow has participated in his church’s missions programs, including trips to Costa Rico and Sri Lanka and is heavily involved in his church’s relationship with World Vision.
Dow is married to Kitty and they have three children, Anne-Worley (’78), John (’81) and Lee (’84). His hobbies include snow skiing, hiking/backpacking, water skiing, gardening, cycling, and fly fishing.
Director: Jim Blane Jim Blane is a native of Roanoke, Virginia and a member of Myers Park United Methodist Church where he serves on the World Outreach Committee. He is a graduate of University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and University of Virginia Law School. With more than thirty years in the practice of law, Jim brings valuable experience and knowledge to World of God. In 1999, he established a private law practice, James L. Blane, PLLC and he is certified as a Mediator in Superior and District Courts as well as a member of the Charlotte Estate Planning Council.
Jim has an extensive history of serving others in many capacities. He has been a Little League Coach, Sunday School teacher, Presbyterian and Baptist Deacon, Church Moderator, and Finance Committee Chairman. He has served as President of the Plaza-Midwood Neighborhood Association as well as appointments to municipal oversight committees. Jim has a heart for the poor of the world. He and his wife have hosted missionaries from around the world, and he has been active in missions in Liberia and Haiti. Jim and his wife, Janet, live in Charlotte and have two grown children.
Director: Christopher H. A. Cecil ![]() Chris Cecil is the President of GenSpring Family Offices located in Charlotte, NC. Over the past 22 years, Chris has worked exclusively with ultra high net worth entrepreneurs and wealthy families in such areas as investment management, multi-generational planning, philanthropic missions, and succession planning of closely held businesses. Prior to joining GenSpring, Chris was President of the Southeast and of the Florida regions for JPMorgan Private Bank. Previously he was Managing Director at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. in both Palm Beach and New York.
Chris, with his wife Ruth, have traveled the world extensively and have been actively involved with helping children and improving their education and development. Chris currently also serves on the board of Communities In School, Discovery Place, and MyersParkMethodistChurch’s World Outreach Committee.
Director: Eddy Leger . Born in Haiti and immigrated to the U.S.A. (Brooklyn, NY) in 1965. . Married with 3 daughters and 4 grand children.
. Business degree in Management with Graduate studies in International Finances.
. Early retirement as a Vice President for Bank of America with a specialty in Securities Operations.
. A career of 30 years in the Financial and Banking industry.
. Traveled the 5 continents and implemented the clearance and settlements operations for
Citigroup in Sub-Sarah Africa (South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Swaziland, etc…).
. Met Actionnel Fleurisma, founder of OFCB Ministries in
Bayonnais, Haiti, 10 years ago, and was very impressed with his work and dedication. . My family has been interested in supporting the work of OFCB.
. Consider myself an Ambassador (servant) for the Kingdom of Jesus Christ on earth.
. Working closely with OFCB, specifically in helping sponsoring children, feeding and
providing health care in Bayonnais.

Director: David Nichols David grew up in suburban Philadelphia. After getting an engineering physics degree and an MBA, he worked in technical market research, technical financial analysis, investment sales and finished his career working 10 years each at Interstate Securities and First Union National Bank. Before retiring from First Union in 2000, he managed a small data analysis department working for bond traders and on corporate acquisitions.
David and his wife Judy have lived in Matthews, NC, for 29 years, have two children, a daughter-in-law and two grandsons. They are charter members of South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church, formed in 1991. Actionnel Fleurisma, a founder of OFCB Ministries and also CEO and Head Pastor, is also a charter member of SMPC. Both David & Judy have been active in missions, especially with OFCB. David and Judy have visited Bayonnais many times.
Concerning his involvement with OFCB, David says, “My relationship with the people of OFCB and of Bayonnais has many aspects, but the main one is our relationship of equals under God. I am involved with learning about and promoting their general and specific plans for the future (especially with churches, but also with individuals), trip coordination, financial affairs, sponsoring of college students and many other things. Working with this clearly God-filled group of Haitian men and women and seeing their planning and hard work generate wonderful results has been truly inspiring.”
Director: Hugh Prather Hugh.Prather is a native of Charlotte, NC, a Waxhaw, NC resident and a member of Mineral Springs United Methodist Church. He is a Vice President with Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Hugh has 33 years of sales and marketing experience as well as business ownership. Hugh is very excited about bringing his areas of expertise to help support the World of God organization. He made his first trip to Bayonnais, Haiti in 2006. It was at this time that he fell in love with the people of Bayonnais (especially the children), and their strong Christian faith. As a representative of his church for the OFCB mission efforts, he is finding enormous opportunities to serve the ministry, it's school and the people of Bayonnais. As Hugh states, "With our Lord in charge, we are empowered to chance the lives of the people of Bayonnais for the good of the community and glory to God". Hugh is married to Peggy, has two children, Laura and Emily and three step-children, Lauren, Kevin and Collin. He is a seasoned traveler and enjoys travel, reading, cooking and the arts and outdoor sports.
