Dow Bauknight has 35 years of managerial, sales and execution experience in the Technology Consulting Industry. Responsible for generating/managing book of business in systems and management consulting services at Accenture. Ran Carolinas practice of Accenture and also its Global Supply Chain Practice. Dow retired from Accenture in 2001.
As Executive Director, successfully launched a nonprofit startup - NPower Charlotte Region, Inc. (now Apparo) - which provides technology consulting services to other nonprofits in a 14 county area around Charlotte NC. Dow completed his 5 year commitment to NPower in December of 2008. Dow serves on boards of several small companies.
He is involved in the local community, having directed the development of strategic plans for Simmons YMCA and University City YMCA, and serves on the board of several small, faith-based nonprofits. Mr. Bauknight is also active at Myers Park United Methodist Church, having participated in Finance Committee, World Missions Committee and led the efforts for the church to develop its 5 year strategic plan. Dow has participated in his churchs missions programs, including trips to Costa Rica, Sri Lanka, Kenya and Haiti. Dow actively participates with the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church where he serves on the Vision Alignment Team and chairs the Leadership Development Team.
Dow received his BA degree, Magna Cum Laude/Phi Beta Kappa, from Wofford College and his MBA from UNC Chapel Hill. Dow is married to Kitty and they have three children, Anne-Worley (78), John (81) and Lee (84). His hobbies include snow skiing, hiking/backpacking, water skiing, gardening, cycling, and fly fishing.
