Haiti is the poorest country in the Western hemisphere with a population of over 10 million and 80% live in poverty. Eight out of every 100 children die before they reach their 5th birthday. The child you provide a scholarship for will attend the OFCB Ministries School and your monthly support will allow us to make significant, sustainable contributions for the benefit of your child and the community. OFCB, founded in 1994, now has 2,500 students in K-13, and since 2003 has been providing scholarships for gifted students to attend university in Port au Prince.

FROM SLAVERY TO FREEDOM

(Excerpts from Actionnel’s Speech to Congregation, Sunday, October 22, after Entrepreneur Graduation on Friday, October 20)

November 18, 2017, will make it 214 years since 1803 when the chain of slavery was broken – the big fight [Slaves rising up against the French].  Let me tell you this morning I am not talking as a history teacher.  This morning I am talking about the history of Haiti – what I have learned in school and what I have read in a book.  There are several facts regarding 1804 and the Slave Hiding System.  In the Hiding System, the slaves would hide in mountains.  Then, during the night they would go to the valley, get what they wanted, set fire to the plantations, and poison the water to kill the French.
